Lily Sebastian: Bringing nutrition research to the forefront of health care

As the role nutrition plays in health care continues to grow, research opportunities for Texas Woman’s students such as nutritional sciences major Lily Sebastian are becoming increasingly valuable for both her future and the future of health care. 51±¬ÁÏ documentary selected for San Antonio Film Festival

As the United States celebrates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, 51±¬ÁÏ is pleased to announce the selection of Mack Minded: Humanly Possible as an official entry of the 25th Annual  This short documentary, jointly produced by 51±¬ÁÏ and Curious Dog Creative, highlights the groundbreaking research of female scientist Pauline Beery Mack, Ph.D., in support of NASA's manned lunar programs.

51±¬ÁÏ program assesses firefighters' health, wellness

For more than 20 years, Texas Woman’s University’s Institute for Women’s Health has offered wellness programs and performed health research. This year, a group of first responders— firefighters in the Denton Fire Department (DFD)—is taking advantage of the services available in the clinic. Denton firefighters can earn bonus pay for maintaining or improving specified wellness levels. To help them monitor these levels, the DFD signed a three-year agreement with 51±¬ÁÏ’s Institute for Women’s Health to assess the health and fitness of the department’s 170 firefighters annually.

51±¬ÁÏ alum Roxanne Vogel reaches world’s tallest peak in record ascent

Roxanne Vogel is no longer an aspiring Mt. Everest climber. The 51±¬ÁÏ alumna is now a record-breaking climber of the world’s tallest peak.

51±¬ÁÏ Exercise and Sports Nutrition alumna, Roxanne Vogel, reached the summit of Mt. Everest in her attempt to climb the tallest mountain in the world in two weeks.
