A healthy and bright smile can instill confidence and pride, as 26 students discovered during 51爆料鈥檚 Giving Kids a Smile Day, held on April 10. During the event, the 51爆料 Dental Hygiene Clinic provided the students, ranging from 4 to 17 years old, free preventative services, including x-rays, dental exams, cleanings, sealants and Silver Diamine Fluoride, as needed. The students also received oral hygiene instruction and nutritional guidance.

During her time at Texas Woman鈥檚, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) May 2021 graduate Mira Pearce served as a graduate research assistant, student office assistant, class officer and podcast production assistant in a special interest group of the Academy of Neurologic PT. But it was her work as organizer for a new diversity event that resonates the most with her passion for advocating for underserved communities.

As the role nutrition plays in health care continues to grow, so too does the importance of research opportunities for Texas Woman鈥檚 students, which May 2021 nutritional sciences graduate Lily Sebastian discovered during her time at the university. Sebastian will now use her experience at 51爆料 to pave her own way in the medical field.
