Capstone projects lead students to real-world discoveries

Occupational therapy doctoral students at Texas Woman’s University are completing intensive, 14-week capstone projects that apply OT techniques to real-world community needs. These student-driven initiatives range from researching fine motor skills in Parkinson’s patients to developing support programs for youth mental health.

After a 2013 accident left him paralyzed, Daquan Minor overcame physical and psychological hurdles to earn his Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. Inspired by his own recovery and the therapists who supported him, Minor now plans to pursue a career to continue helping others.
