After loss, graduation has special meaning for mom, daughter

Katelynn Sparkman’s life instantly changed when her husband was killed in a car accident. She was now a widowed mother with the challenge of working a full-time job on top of going to school full-time. Despite the loss, Sparkman is walking at the May commencement ceremony with her cohort and will graduate in August.

Nutrition and Food Sciences programs gain reaccreditation

A national accrediting body has given high marks and granted full reaccreditation to two key Texas Woman’s Nutrition and Food Sciences programs.

Kinesiology team places fourth at NASA-sponsored competition

A Texas Woman’s team of senior kinesiology students created a wearable device for astronauts that signals when unsafe arm positions are detected. The team’s project placed fourth overall at the Texas Space Grant Consortium Design Challenge, a NASA-sponsored science competition. 

Service has familiar theme to student’s spring break experience

Texas Woman’s junior Maya Landgrebe didn’t have to leave Denton to have the perfect spring break. As site leader for the 51爆料 Local Alternative Spring Break, Landgrebe planned volunteer excursions for university students who stayed on campus or in the Denton area this past spring break.

Don’t pinch Courtney Randle-Gaines. She doesn’t want to wake up from the wonderful dream she is having. 

For the last 10 months, Randle-Gaines has been working as a volunteer coordinator for the 2023 NCAA Men’s Final Four’s Houston Local Organizing Committee (HLOC).
